I been lookin/researching for my suspension. I have a 99 Honda Civic EX coupe with Arospeed coil-over (Yes, I know bad bad mistake--no need to point it out  and rub it in lol), SPC front and rear camber kits, SPC rear toe adjusters, SPC lower rear arm. I currently use the stock struts. Ok nuff intro and into the question.

If you are in my position which one will you pick?

1. H&R Cup Kit $606 + SH @ Tirerack
2. AGX/Eibach Pro $550 shipped @ Cox Import
3. Illumina Kit (ILK) $440 + SH @ Ebay

At first I was thinking on getting the ILK but after reading this forum most people didn't like them because of the Tokico springs. Then I saw alot of people had good feedback with the AGX/Pro kit combo but I am just worried about warranty since KYB warranty didnt sound that great to me regarding lowered cars. Also I read somewhere that Eibach Pro's are not designed to use with AGX or something (I dunno if there is any truth to this claim). Now the H&R Cup kit is the one I'm thinking of getting. I just don't know if these kit got adjustable dampening in which I really want. I have not heard much about it that's why I'm having second thoughts. I am going to buy the KYB Boot and strut mounts for this application as well and I called tirerack and the rep told me that I can use them with the cup kit. One thing I am not certain is the KYB boot come with a bump stop but I am not sure if I need to trim it down for this application. I have considered Koni yellows but the price is not looking too good for me since the set will set me back $568 for shocks alone, then factor in the set of springs/coil-overs. I really like the Koni's but seemed too steep. I don't auto-x nor race but I want to do/complete the suspension right this time around.

I have read many posts and yes it may answer somewhat but I have questions that others haven't asked. Any help and suggestions are very appreciated. Also if anyone got a cheaper source for this application please let me know. Thanks in advance.

BTW I have considered Tein as well. I dont like the basic dampers since there is no dampening and the SS are just too steep as well and I cannot justify the price over mhy actual application, pretty much the same boat with the yellows. However the Nuespeed/Koni Sport Shocks looks promising. See link below:

If i decide to go this route I need to get the matching springs around $150+.

OK so far, I leaning towards Neuspeed/Koni + Neuspeed Sport Shocks instead of H&R Cup Kit. I been reading so far regarding the specs of the Neuspeed and it sounded good to me. From what I read (or my interpretation is) the Neuspeed see better than regular Koni's since it has 5 perches and much shorter rod. I was wondering if anybody got this setup on their ride and can provide me feedback.

Also if anybody has other opinions, please post them since I want to do as much research as possible before plunging in. I'm tired of buying crap just to be disappointed.

I am not saying the nuespeed/koni is bad by any means...but the H & R cup kit is also a good choice. I actually have H & R springs (not the cup kit) on my ride (thinking abotu should have just got the cup-kit). Anyways, that is also a good choice. That price is good as well, it's certainly better than it was a few years ago when I was looking.

What shock/strut did you pair them with? Also do you happen to know if you can change the dampening of the cup kits? I guess it's kinda too late since I just got the Neuspeed Sport Springs and I will get the Neuspeed/Koni to pair them up with.

I don't know if anybody has the kyb boot and provide me feedback but I called tirerack and the guy said it won't work with the koni's which is weird. He said the kyb boots are made for the oem or gr2 shocks. He said I have to use my oem dust boot, but if you look at the koni they look like gr2 or much like oem unless they are wider in dimension. Does anyone with koni can tell me if the dimension is wider that the kyb boot won't fit? Thanks!!

I paired them with Tokico HP's (blues). I wish I had gotten better shocks, and adjustabel ones at that. I mean, the blues arn't awful, but I would have preferred better. I will eventually upgrade shocks. The springs themselves though, I have no quarrels with. I love the H & R's. If I would have paired them, with a good, adjustable shock, that would have been a good set-up for me. I don't beleive the Cup Kit has adjustabel shocks, it's an entry level tuned coil-over system, similer to TEIN's entery level tuned coil-over system (Tein's has a MSRP of $750). I can't remember the name of tein's entry level system off the top of my head. I'll check, as well as checking about the CUP-KIT and whether it has adjustable shocks or not, though I don't think it does. I think it is only a tuned coil over system (fully threaded body) with ride height adjustablity, not shock dampening. I'll check though. For anyone looking at Coil-Overs, don't get the crap most people think of when they think of coil-overs (like skunk-2 coil overs), get a good entry level tuned coil-over system like the H & R CUP-KIT or TEIN's entry level tuned system, or get a good set of springs/shocks instead.
