Surging Idle cure92JDMLX 02-07-2004, 03:39 PM Ok I have got the cure for the surging idle prob on the any Civic motor. After spending a sh%^ load of money and wasting countless hours, I found the prob. It's the Fast Idle Valve. It's located on the bottom side of the t-body and has 2 small hoses running to it. I hade to take mine a part and found that the retaining nut, which is plastic, had come lose, I tightened it down reinstalled it and my car has never ran better. I checked around and it seems that a lot of people have had the same prob and fixed it the same way. GScivic7 02-07-2004, 08:26 PM Good to know, seeing as how a lot of people are having this problem, can we make this a sticky. Also, post any other sure fire solutions that people have come across that had the same problem would be great also. Kinked210 02-07-2004, 11:58 PM thanks dude..ill look into having mine fixed :) cj77 05-22-2004, 05:50 PM Is this the same thing as the IAC???? If so, how did you take yours apart without ruining it? xproductionz 05-22-2004, 06:04 PM wat kind of car was this done on? drock59 11-08-2004, 11:56 AM pics or updates? GScivic7 11-08-2004, 03:42 PM after 6 months, no I dont think so drock59 11-08-2004, 04:05 PM just trying here. i have a surging idle and have been looking for stuff that has worked. NObody ever follows up. Hermansader 11-08-2004, 08:12 PM We fixed one of these at my dad's shop. The fast idle valve is on the bottom of the throttle body. I believe it has some vaccuum hoses going to it. We replaced it, but aparently you can just fix it. NO IT IS NOT THE IAC VALVE. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
