Neon vs. 98 Mustang Convertible

My parents just traded our truck in for a 98 Mustang...and its got the 3.8 liter V6 in it. I looked up specs on it and it only has 150 HP with 215 ft/lb of torque. I can easily match that horsepower with catback and other mods...but would that torque still make the Mustang able to kick a Neons ass? I have a 95 Sport with auto...so thats the only downside. I just think its funny how theyre not going to do one damn thing with the car and just drive it cause its red and has a black top. How nice...

But anyway...give me the lowdown if anyone knows about this Mustangs 1/4 mile times or whatever, and what the chances would be.

i raced at hard top 97 or so V6 at an 1/8 mile track and killed him. but i have mods and a DOHC MTX. he ran like 10.1 and i ran a 9.8. Not sure if your AXT will keep up with it. If the mustang is an AXT it would be close but if it is an MTX it will kill you.

there's no way u beat a 97 mustang hard top cause I got one and I smoke neons all the time

what ever you say. i have only run 1/8 mile and i run 9.8 i have been told that is 15.2 to 15.3 in the 1/4. what are your times.

Yeah its an auto...I dont think it should be that fast at all...except for the torque.

auto v6 mustang are slow. wouldn't beat a dohc mtx neon, but it would definatly beat an atx sohc neon
