a 99 civic hx is coming into view as a possible next purchase.. what do you guys think is the potential of those motors? im thinking going turbo, considering the car does not have ac installed from factory..

i would like to start with the basics, maybe 6psi on stock everything with fmu, is that possible? how is the aftermarket support for the motor?

thanks.

If Im not mistaken, I think the HX is a D series motor. If it is, it doesent have that much of a potential to gain that much power. As for mods, sorry no clue.

Why not a swap?

your right, its d series. the car has only 88k on it, and i dont like to throw away perfectly good engines. another reason being is that im on a budget and suspension would come before the swap :)

What kind of car is this going to be? Daily driver?

You can gain some power with a turbo alright but i doubt it if it would be that much. Try searching through AF, I think i saw several threads about getting cheap turbo.

right, i wasthinking of throwing together smething for 1g. maybe a t25 setup to put me between LS and GSR power. im not expecting much, just a little boost in power.

this will be more or less a daily driver, reliablility is a must. anyhow, if i get the car, what i want to do is some autoxing.. just looking for something fun to drive on a budget.

It was in carguyinok's sign...read his sign. Something cheap and fast is not good. For auto-X, concentrate on suspension and handling.

yeah yeah, i heard of that.. im not a n00b. i jsut dont know the specifics.. have been outside of honda world for a while..

basicly i would like to know if 6psi would be doable and reliable with stock everything, assuming proper fuel management. what kind of numbers can one expect...

the gredy kit for the ex motor boosts 6psi and puts down close to 170hp, irrc. i could live with that, even some thing that makes a little less power.

I think 6 psi is doable on stock internals. Just not too sure what numbers your going to be putting out. I'm not too good at specifics either.
