I have a 95 dodge neon that was giving me problems with it's clutch.
It would not shift. I had a new clutch, throw out bearing, and pressure plate put in for $500. It shifts O.K. now but slips out of 4th, and when I start it up it still makes a loud rattling bearing sound. (I thought it was the throw out bearing befor I had it worked on) The sound stops after the car warms up. I'm thinking the mechanics might have just adjusted the linkage and gave me the shaft. I had the work done out of state at one of my job sites. I don't know that much about manual transmitions. Any opinions out there?

there is no adjustment in the linkage or clutch cable. slipping out of fourth is a tranny prob not the clutch. the rattling is a common thing w/ neons it will probably go away after a little bit
