View Full Version : I might have been ripped off. I might have been ripped off. Wayneandmel 02-07-2004, 12:34 PM It would not shift. I had a new clutch, throw out bearing, and pressure plate put in for $500. It shifts O.K. now but slips out of 4th, and when I start it up it still makes a loud rattling bearing sound. (I thought it was the throw out bearing befor I had it worked on) The sound stops after the car warms up. I'm thinking the mechanics might have just adjusted the linkage and gave me the shaft. I had the work done out of state at one of my job sites. I don't know that much about manual transmitions. Any opinions out there? blachdohcneon 02-09-2004, 01:15 AM there is no adjustment in the linkage or clutch cable. slipping out of fourth is a tranny prob not the clutch. the rattling is a common thing w/ neons it will probably go away after a little bit Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com!
