I have a air intake, muffler, new coil, 60mm throttle body, headers. I was thinking about a high flow cat, pulleys, and cam gears. Is that a pretty good idea or should I do something else im trying to get power and not mess up my car. Thanks for the replys.

Well first off all, if you want good traction/power deliverance, tighten up your suspention. It deff. helps like motor mounts, lower, braces, and tires. All off those are 100% safe, CHEAP (except good tires and springs, but I don't think that those parts would be too much for a neon) and helps immensely...

Oh and you have CAI, Headers, muffler, and TB. It's doing NOTHING unless you free up all those pipes, that's the only way youll get the most of your mods already, and future ones. But every little bit helps. But sound like you have a good project going, good luck.

P.S. OH, try to shed some pounds, helps ALL around.

free 2hp boost! get this, there is a piece of weather stripping under the hood on the pre-2000 neons, it's right near the windshield, if you pull that off, it will actually give you a 2hp boost!

def get an UDP and mp pcm, that 2hp thing is a little of stretch, all it does is cool down the engine bay, not sure how thats measured in hp.

If you have the SOHC I would definatly think about getting the magnum camshsaft and valve springs put in. One of the many things I'm planning with mine. Takes you from stock 132 hp to 150. Nice. Very nice. You can get all the parts for around $250. Go to http://www.neons.org/forumdodge/ for more info on that. It's under Magnum SOCH Camshaft and Valve Spring Upgrade Info about 1/3rd the way down the page.

The magnum camshaft and valve springs WILL NOT get you to 150hp. you must have the higher flowing magnum head and intake manifold to see that kind of gain.

I thought they were the only difference between the to engines. What else is there?

well look at the differance in port sizes, http://www.neons.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=66442

its much higher flowing, also the intake manifiold has two sets of runners, it uses the longer one's for low rpm then a solenoid flips a valve and the shorter runners are used for high rpm. also the stock exhaust manifold is much better then the other sohc's

it all depends on how much money you have and how much comfort youre willing to sacrifice. i mean hey, depending on where you live a/c,p/s, might not be needed. youll notice a slight difference there. but after you get the race pulley, and allum. flywheel, you drop you times like crazy. get a mopar ecu and a crane cam, you got one cool ass neon for the street
