I am wondering what are the differences between the USDM Civic SI and the JDM Civic SIR? 1995 specifically.

OMG thanks for the help. :screwy:

Maybe you could tell me what the engine is? D16z6, b16a? Some help there. Any other differences?

don't even worry about it... I am rather sassy myself
you will find this under the hood of an SiR-II (92-95) 170 hp, 113 torque

and you will find this under the hood of a US Civic Si (this is my current engine, D16Z6) 125 hp, like 100 torque

I don't really know a lot about other differences. I am pretty sure the Si here in the states was just like an EX hatch almost with 4 wheel disc and SOHC vtec, etc. Couldn't tell ya about the SiR-II in Japan

Thank you. I was in a feud with a gentlemen about the engines in the above mentioned cars. He was saying they were exactly the same (guess he didn't think a girl would know). I was almost positive that the SIR came with the b16a and that the SI came with the d16z6. Thank you for confirming for me though.

Just some advice for all you guys, just because she is a girl doesnt mean she is absolutely dumb on car knowledge.

maybe there was just confusion... I believe in Canada the SiR was the exact same thing as the Si that was sold in the US... it just had an R stuck on the end of it.

I wasn't even aware you were a girl... and yeah I know girls know about cars. Hell in my first autocross ever this fall I was beaten by one! :bananasmi

Naw no confusion. He has a b16a(jdm) swapped ex coupe and was calling his car an SIR.

We were arguing about JDM SIR and USDM SI. Big difference between the two.
