Blazer vs. CherokeeJoulesWinfield 02-05-2004, 12:09 PM :2cents: Im new round these parts, and I just wanted to get yalls opinion. Could anyone provide a good comparision between the 98 Blazer and a 98 Cherokee. I am interested in going off road and haulin the Doos across the state. Thanks. bruzer80 02-05-2004, 09:02 PM haven't looked into all of the differences, but the thing that has always been a benefit for towing is that Jeep makes a V8 for the Cherokee and Blazer does not. JoulesWinfield 02-05-2004, 09:15 PM Yea, but Im talkin about the XJ Not the Grand Cherokee. airforceone 02-06-2004, 01:02 AM A Blazer is an average off roader. Unless you get a ZR-2, they really aren't built to become four wheelers. Cherokees are awesome in the dirt; the major help in that being the solid front axle. The lift kits are cheap, and they're pretty easy to work on. As a bonus, the 4.0 straight six makes more than enough torque to move it, and there are plenty of performance parts to hop it up. :2cents: skotmxpx 02-09-2004, 09:56 AM Yeah, I agree with "airforceone". But you have to remember. When considering a jeep, your considering a crystler...do you really want to do that? Also, on a serious note, I've none lots of guys who have jeeps not one of them has NOT had a problem. And jeep problems are not cheap to fix. Glenn Peters 02-09-2004, 07:40 PM Cherokees are very good vehicles,I should have purchased that instead of the blazer. I used to work on them at a jeep dealer. Inside the blazer is a much nicer ride! modification_inc 02-09-2004, 08:51 PM poo on both JoulesWinfield 02-09-2004, 10:57 PM Thats kinda the assumption I had made. The XJ would be better offroad but a stiffer ride. And the Blazer would be more comfy but not as good 4x4. How bout stibility @ 80mph pulling two Sea-Doos? Or any inhernt bs like bad water pumps, rusting out steering boxes, things like that. I cant say I have heard any really bad things about either of them. Glenn Peters 02-10-2004, 08:15 PM My Blazer is nice at 80mph have not towed yet,but will be pulling2 or 3 dirtbikes soon. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
