iight my friend has a 5 speed 91 corolla and says he can do 95 in third gear...does anyone kno wut a neon's third gear is like.i have a sohc 96 non sport neon and i was thinkn bout racin him until i herd this so do i have a chance???

Do you have a manual or automatic 96 SOHC?

If you have an unmodified, stock automatic he will probably pull on you and win :( . If you have a manual, you can take him easy provided your shifting/driving skills are up to the task.

i can pull about 45 in second gear in my 98 manual. does this guy have any mods, if not, i'd say it'd be a close match

if your mtx you will take him, unless its one of those rear wheel drive sporty corrolas, not sure of the model.

ive got a mtx and another big thing is he's been driven longer than me

just dont spin off the line, and make your shifts, you'll take him

use the full engine potential

shift gear when the engine reachs to the rpm that give you the max power output

and smoke that collora ahhahahhahaaaa

Hell yes you can beat him, but as blackdohneon was saying..make ur shifts, its unfortunate but alot of ppl think they know how to drive stick good when in reality they suck....I've taken cars 30Hp over mine and still one just cause I get good kicks off the gear shifting

i have done the same. i autocross my car and won my class in my region for the last 3 years. the vette and mustang drivers get pissed when i turn in a faster time. also i drag raced once last year and almost took out an SS Z-28. i got a killer launch and he was sleeping. but right at the finish line he passed me. damn V8's also is was only 1/8 mile so if it was 1/4 he would have really killed me. but i know it pissed him off because i almost got him.

yeah and if you really wanna make your shifts get some boogers.
