01 Yukon XL Liftgabpersonal 02-03-2004, 10:10 PM I have a 01 Yukon XL. I want to go move up to a BFG 285 All Terrain Tire. I know that I will need to add a spacer to push the wheel away from the shock mounts, due to increased width. I am also wanting to give my truck a small lift. Someone suggested turning my torsion bars in the front and adding a poly spacers in the rear. Is this the right thing to do, or should does anyone have a better solution. All comments appreciated. Thanks, A OffroadX 02-03-2004, 11:11 PM Um, this is a NISSAN Xterra forum, not a GMC Yukon forum. Try the Yukon section: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=184 Schludwiller 02-04-2004, 12:19 PM Ahh...what the hell. I'll answer. Yes, you can probably use the torsion bars for a small lift at the expense of ride quality (I'm guessing since I don't have a Yukon). The spacers will screw up the wheel geometry and potentially cause you more/expensive problems and won't change ride height so you might have a low rear end compared to the front. If you want larger tires and a small lift, why not buy a lift kit? There has to be some out there for the Yukon. Or just get taller tires, but don't get extra wide ones. gabpersonal 02-05-2004, 09:37 PM I must have gotten into the wrong forum by accident. Sorry for the confusion. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
