tonneau coverstrey_dogg3 02-03-2004, 03:09 AM I was wondering about how much a tonneau would improve gas mileage. I have 99 Z71 with 5.3 and I average about 15.5 mpg. because of my lead foot. Thanks Trey :bricks1: NUCLEUS.ONE 02-03-2004, 06:48 PM Yeah, good question. Any mag articles? LoneWolf3 02-05-2004, 03:34 PM I was getting my nerf bars put on other day, they do covers too, they say about a 15% difference. jstonemo 02-08-2004, 11:51 PM I had a hard cover installed about 3 years ago. Didn't make one d*mn bit of difference. Just my experience, your mileage may vary. I just like the lid for storage purposes. bim 02-09-2004, 02:21 AM It will probably help you if you do a lot of highway driving, but its mostly for looks and to protect what you put in the bed. jeverett 02-09-2004, 08:32 AM I wish there was a way to have a cover and have a toolbox too. I'd have to buy a new toolbox that went inside the bed-rails..those things aint cheap. LoneWolf3 02-09-2004, 06:35 PM Well go to this website and tell me if this is what you had in mind. http://northeast.zoovy.com/category/toolboxtonneaucovers/ Well, I'll take the benefits of covering all stuff and if i get better mileage it will be a bonus.. jeverett 02-10-2004, 08:38 AM That might just be exactly what I've been looking for.
