Lately when I start my car in the morning, I let it warm up for about 20 minutes, then as I start to drive the brake cautions lights come on, and the truck wants to cut off...but then if I push on the gas the lights will go out and everything is fine...now it takes too long for the transmission to switch gears, the engine works hard to get to 35 mph before the gear changes...what's could the problem be? HELP PLEASE

First, check for vaccum leaks...These symptoms indicate one. Second, check your brake fluid level and check all the caliper nipples to see if there is any leakage. Pull and clean your EGR with carb cleaner and a wire brush. (a clogged EGR can give similar symproms). Run seafoam through your engine and do a general tuneup. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter? They should be changed every 15-20k. Hows the air filter?

first -- check your vacuum lines to make sure they arent leaking and theyre all connected properly

second -- check all fluid levels espcially the brake fluid and the tranny fluid

third -- when was the last time you had your tranny pan dropped and drained and had a new tranny filter put in? it should be done every 10-30K.

fourth -- if it isnt shifting until 35 mph my suspission is the transmission. My truck, when the tranny blew both times, would rev and rev (gaining alittle speed) until a little over 20mph when it could kick into 3rd. To me it seems your 2nd gear is acting up/shot.

Can you manually shift it from 1st to 3rd? Try it out and good luck. get back to me on everything.
