1995 Pontiac Bonnevilleshurnlea 02-02-2004, 01:14 PM I have had my car for three years. From day one this has been happening. If I drive it a short distance, turn off the car and go into the store for a few minutes, when I come back out most of the time it will not start. If I raise the hood for about 20 minutes or so, it will start back. However, the other day, I pulled into a parking space, it spit and sputtered and died. It started again for just a second and then died. The next day, it started and then died. Now it will not start back. I thought maybe the gas gauge was wrong and it needed gas. I added more gas to it, but that didn't help. This has been a pain in my behind for a long time now and I am desperately seeking help. I had previously replaced the ignition module and coil packs but that hasn't made any difference. Please help. Flatrater 02-02-2004, 08:26 PM Do you have spark at the plugs? It also interfaces with & communicates with other control modules in the car. fused 05-17-2004, 08:11 AM Thanks fused 05-17-2004, 09:19 AM my problem: The car starts up and shuts off repeatedly, and just won't keep running.Has fuel suscpect injectors shutting off. Steelman93 07-25-2004, 01:46 PM I had this same exact problem in my 93 Intrepid. It was the crank sensor, although it could also be the cam sensor. One of them gives the engine the ok to start, but you don't need it after it is running. The other keeps the engine running> After the car is hot the sensor doesn't work right, so it won't let the car start until the sensor cools down. fjmcfall 08-05-2004, 09:33 AM I had the exact same issue with my 95 Bonneville.. And it was the crank positioning sensor that caused the problem.. DOpey85 08-05-2004, 02:45 PM I would say your best bet is to get a crank postioning sensor. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
