Changing Oil Pan Gasketchickyricky 02-01-2004, 08:48 PM How difficult is it to change an oil pan gasket on a 2000 Toyota Camry??? Mine is leaking. Brian R. 02-14-2004, 10:20 PM Try torquing the pan bolts first. Maybe one or two are loose. yotatechie04 02-15-2004, 01:16 AM I agree, you'll want to check your all of your bolts first before automatically assuming that you need to change a gasket. Although if your bolts are fine, and you do need to change it, it's not that difficult, you just drain the oil, remove all of the mounting bolts for the pan, drop the pan, pull all of the old gasket off both mating surfaces, put your new one on with a little bit of sealant, and you're set to go. Very simple job. Can be done at the most 25 minutes. ToyotaTech 02-18-2004, 02:51 AM 25 minutes? Man u are fast! I have to remove the exhaust pipe out of the way and then remove all that FIPG that Toyota puts on Of course I have only been able to remove this stuff with Carb cleaner an a wire wheel. I only use the sealent from Toyota and let it sit for 20 minutes, so for me about 1 hour with a Lift and no broken Exhaust studs. haha yotatechie04 02-18-2004, 01:45 PM The only reason that I do things so fast with my Camry is mainly because I've tore it apart and put it back together almost completely, so it's not really that difficult for me to do anything with it. Brian R. 02-18-2004, 02:26 PM No lift, dirty engine, frozen exhaust nuts - 4 hours. :) yotatechie04 02-20-2004, 01:38 AM Well, I'm lucky enough to have access to a good quality lift and everything else that I need...it would be cool if you guys lived near me, then I would be more than happy to help you with your undercar problems. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
