What is a 1985 300zx N/A's potential?dugpain2 02-01-2004, 12:15 PM I just recently bought a 1985 300zx N/a and i wanted to know what it potential could be in say, 1/4 mile times,0-60, hp ratings etc. I'm talking realistic here, not like "oh if i dropped 5k for this engine) etc. Any help would be... well... helpful. lol FinalRights 02-02-2004, 03:34 PM Not great in the N/A form. However,it doesn't take much to convert the engine to turbo. The vg30e and the vg30et blocks are essentially the same. The only diffrences being the compression ratio. You only need a few bolts and brackets to make the car turbo. www.z31.com has a write up on the swap. The stock z31 upper intake will only allow for 215hp with out forced induction. The highest hp vg30e engine I've seen is 300hp,and it cost $8k to buy it. dugpain2 02-03-2004, 04:20 PM Ya i think im gonna serioudly look into converting it to turbo. By like buying a turbo parts car. Taking it somewhere to do the conversion must be like atrocious in $$$$$ though!! Id do it though, but how much do u think it might be? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
