hi everybody,
I saw these on the jegs performance website and its claimed they will give 10-15 extra hp. its a set of aluminium pulleys and they noly cost around $130. So $130 for 10-15 extra hp, sounds too good to be true. i was wondering, do they really work??? heres the link to the pulleys in question:

i have them for my lt1 if you are gonna do it get the whole set not just that pully...here...
http://www.thunderracing.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=subcategory&subcategoryid=1084

Go there and look at the 03-4485 March Power & Amp Series Underdrive Crank Pulley w/ Overdrive Alternator Pulley, 1993-1997 LT1 F-body, 1994-1996 Impala SS , and 11-590K6 Belt for Underdrive Crank & Alternator Pulley (03-4485), that way you will have the alt. and the crank pulley and you will have the new smaller belt you need for that set-up. Read the directions carfully with them cuz lots of guys scew this simple process up...they dont realize the stock pully/ballancer goes back on over the top of the march underdrive pulley...hope this helps. good luck

Yes, they do work, but they don't add hp. They actually free up wasted hp by reducing parasitic drag, that is created by your other accessories that are belt driven.

I have heard of many folks say they are having charging issues after installing their underdrive pulleys. Maybe they are just hooking them up wrong, but still, I have heard that ALOT.

i removed the ac system from my camaro and it didnt add a noticable amount of horespower but the engine and ran a lot better and the alt put out more volts. i figure so long as you get both the crank and alt pulley it should have the same effect. but how will it change your steering (if at all), cause if there's no pulley for the p/s pump wont it be low geared in a sense?

That's why they sell different types. The power and amp ones should not effect the way the alt charges too much compared to the other style. I have regular underdrives and have not had any charging side effects what so ever.

mine is actually a lil on the overcharging side..not to bad but it sits at bout 14 at idle which is higher than it used to be. I need to throw an amp in or something to use some of that juice up...
