01 Lude vs Aurorajuicy19 01-30-2004, 12:11 PM Alright guys, so I'm heading home from the bowling alley at about 11 on a Thursday night and I see a car ahead cruising at a good pace. I do what I can to catch up and I end up behind him at a light. That's when I notice its an Olds Aurora. If I remember right, they've got the best engine in their class (I could be wrong/outdated). We make it to the next light where the road opens up to 2 lanes, naturally I get over, next to the guy. I see the lights about to change, so I don't brake too hard. I punch it when the light goes green. I get ahead of him before it goes back to 1 lane. The guys starts tailing me and I'm doing about 70 in a 50. I got sick of it so I dropped a gear and gained some space on him. He caught right back up. The road again goes to 2 lanes before the next light. I stay left, he goes right. The light is red, but I figure it'll turn green before we completely stop so I slow down allowing him to catch up next to me. The light goes green and I"m rolling at about 30mph. He got on the gas before I did so he got about a half car lead. Shifting into third I get the lead. We're pretty much neck and neck the whole way. One bad shift and he evened up until I got back into VTEC. My turn off was coming so I had to pull up, but when I did, I had him by a bumper. Top speed got to about 110. Sorry this thing is so damn long, but it was a good experience. My only thought is was it the 6 cyl (215HP) or the 8 cyl (250HP). Since it was from a roll the torque is pretty much thrown out of the equation, and the car is much heavier. What do you guys think? soccmid 01-31-2004, 06:32 PM dont kno too much bout the auroa but good kill none the less . teh 5th gen ldues r pretty decent high end power pikkagtr 02-04-2004, 07:45 PM hehe good kill yup the top end of the h22 is pretty mean on the highway without the lucky shift mistake u should have takne him by a lot more dyno man 32 02-04-2004, 10:59 PM good race nutslapper vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
