I searched through the forums and couldnt find much about street drag rubber, so hell, why not make a new thread?

I'm researching for a pal of mine (one who unfourtunately doesnt have internet access) for the best street drag rubber. He's got a 90 CRX with a SOHC vtec in it with basic mods (custom CAI, self-welded 2 1/2 inch exaust, mild polish heads)-hes lookin to get some new rubber for his 16x7's. Hes got cheapo coilovers which dropped it about an inch or so if that really matters. So my question is what would be the best drag radials for his car? I've read about a bunch of em but never really heard anyones opinion on the matter. thanks for your help!

Nitto 555Rs are prolly the cheapest.

The only 16" 555R sold is a 245/50 size tire, which is a pinch too big for a civic. BFG sells a 16" comp TA drag radial, but it is a 255/50 tire, which once again is going to be too big for your stock bodied car, but it could be fit as long as the car isn't dumped and you're willing to make some fender "mods". BFG does have several G-force drag radials that would fit nicely on a civic. They have a 205/50/14, 215/60/14, 225/45/14, 205/50/15, 225/50/15, and a 205/40/17 drag radial, all of which would work with no or minimal mods to the car. Personally I run the 225/50/15's, and they hook decently when they're warm. The 16" rim is just the odd man out, I guess.
