1998 Ranger with no High Beamsklaatu62 01-29-2004, 08:38 AM I've got a 1998 Ranger that I am about to donate to my dad. There are a few small issues with it but most I can handle (except for changing the seal on the diff... That I'll let to the guys who know what a torque wrench is!) I do have one stumper however, a few weeks back my high beams stopped working. The low beams work fine, but when I switch to high, I get Nada! Changed both bulbs, but the same results. Any ideas?? Someone mentioned a "High beam module" but they could be blowing smoke... I'm hoping it isn't in the steering column, but at this point I have no idea Thanks for the help Randy Boback Quincy Mass lakerfan1784 01-29-2004, 04:21 PM What I would do is check to see if the 'flash to pass' high beams work, ie pull the stick towards the dash. If that works, its probably the stalk that has issues. If not, then I would check the relay for the high beams, it should be located in the electrical box under the hood. Hope that helps klaatu62 01-29-2004, 04:31 PM Flash to Pass does the same thing... Turns the lights off... Is there a part number for that relay?? lakerfan1784 01-29-2004, 04:46 PM I don't have the P/N off hand, but if your lights are going completely off, the master lighting switch could be to blame. I had a similar problem with my Ranger, the high beams would come on, then the lights would turn off, but the parking/dash lights would stay on. The switch is cheap ($15) at your local Napa, and is relatively easy to replace. If that is not the problem, Im lost. klaatu62 01-29-2004, 05:03 PM Kewl... Thanks for the assistance... I'll try Autozone tonight cclinic 02-10-2005, 10:23 AM Replace fuse 33 with 15 amp. I had the same problems. Got schematic form dealer. I've got a 1998 Ranger that I am about to donate to my dad.
