wheels tutorial

hey guys

i was given How to Draw and Paint Racing Cars by Michael Turner for my birthday. its a bloody good book, its helpful in many ways. i have progressed well becos of that book. but there is one thing i dont get.

Wheels.

they are the bane of my life. if i could just draw wheels like canay or asaenz i would throw a party. i know that my wheels could be alot worse, but its more that i have to draw and redraw many times over before i can get them to look like they do. (pretty pathetic isnt it, i spend so long and they turn out like that)

so if anyone thats a professional or just bloody good **hint hint asaenz,canay** can give me help i would be so happy and would become ur worshipper. they dont need to be anytime soon...

thanks in advance or whatever...i got a new drawing in progress, but becos i am hopeless i wont say wot it is becos it will have changed 10 times before u see it

A little hint most artist use ellipse templates. :) oops the secrete is out.

But it is good to still be able to draw a pretty good ellipse freehand here is a link

cool thanks...the main problem i have is getting them to line up with the car properly and look rite

oh and about ellipse templates...i can only find one angle, so im slighty limited so can u buy different ones or is there a technique for changing the angles?

o man is there, there are plenty of elipse templates you can find on the web

i'll bet many artist do use templates, but i prefer not to. just practice using pictures of cars, and try your best to match them. thats how i learned, but even as much as i do it, its still a challenge, just practice a lot, and use that tutorial, its very enlightening. Good luck!
