I have a 94 camry with 144,000 that idles badly. No apparent problems with it when it runs full out. For awhile it was dying out at stop signs. I had a guy clean the easily accessible part of the fuel injector (he took off a hose that looked like it went toward the air filter and cleaned it with a "gumout" type spray. I also put new spark plugs in. I also have run two cans of fuel cleaner. The idle motor seems to work as the RPM's ramp when I put the AC on. Now, as it idles poorly about every 6-8 seconds it almost dies out but does not. It runs better when it is cold. The first 4-5 stop signs it runs fine.

Bottom line although it is better the problem still exists. Anyone help!

Thanks

Have you tried to adjust the hard stop screw on the trottle body? This could help, although it might not be the cause of your problem. It sounds to me like you may have a vacuum leak somewhere in the car, and this is possible. You'll want to check all of your lines that run from the intake manifold and make sure that none of them have rotted away or anything. You may also want to have someone run it on the computer (code scanner) and see if they can have anything come up on the emissions system, this is another cause of cars choking up so much nowadays.
