Rearend Squeak

I have a 2000 Wrangler. Rolling down the road I have a squeak in the rear end. It goes away when I step on the brakes. This year of Jeep does not have disc brakes on the rear. It has drums and shoes. It sounds like it is coming from the brakes, but I have checked the brakes and they are all right. This is driving me crazy. Any ideas ... help.

Check the u-joints on the driveshaft. Sometimes the sounds can fool you on where they are originating from. Take a grease gun and oil them down... and also check for wear... if the driveshaft has play at the u joint then it's time to replace.
