Harryc8786 10-13-2004, 12:11 AM I drive a 98 and messed with my bulbs, blew a few fuses, so then i put the stock bulbs in. Changed fuses, i think they worked a while. But a few hours later the parking lamps work, but no turning and hazards? what do you think i should do, my turn signal fuse blew i changed it still no luck...i made sure the wire was connected to the hazard button and still no luck please help Dalt10 10-15-2004, 09:06 PM Mine just started acting up. I guess I'll change the switch. Dalt10 10-25-2004, 09:01 PM Took it to the dealer Saturday. They changed the hazard switch. Turn signals work fine now. No charge, the fix was under warranty. treeman5 10-26-2004, 07:34 AM It's actually a recall on the switch...for those of you who don't want to wait for the dealer to put it in...I did mine for $29 and 5 minutes of my time. mark7tenor 10-23-2005, 01:05 PM I removed and reinstalled the same hazard switch and I've had no problems for two weeks so far. I did rub some graphite (pencil lead) on the contacts, which may or may not have helped. garync1 11-05-2005, 12:35 PM I have a 97 malibu and started having this problem.. Now I know what to look for. I did know there no flasher or more that it was not a replacable part.. But it clear now that there really is and its the hazzard switch.. Thanks..... I did also notice when I engaged the flasher my turn signals would work after. I always have done this trick before to test my external flasher on other cars.. I do like this malibu it came with my wife of 2 years got her a mini van and I drive the malibu to work.. i like it so much now that i will most likley get another one or another GM with the same motor.. Its one tuff machine.. my wife before we met drove the thing over 30,000 miles with out changing the oil I saw here quick lube sticker and checked the milliage and there was over a 30,000 mile gap there.. I asked her had she had the oil changed between that time and she said no!! but the oil light came on and I added some to it every time it came on.LOL :screwy: I finally changed it and this thick stuff came out.. Yes there was sluge but I ran some light motor oil through it 5w20 for 100 miles 2 times and switch to synthetic motor oil it had a little bearing noise but still runs quick and strong. smokes a little on quick take off but nothing to unusal with a car that has 135,000 miles on it..If she took care of it it would most likey have seen 200,000 miles but its still going it could make it... I only drive it 16 miles a day back an forth to work so it will be long time before that happens if I dont get a newer one first..I work on cars on the side and never seen one with a tough motor like this..30,000 miles without chageing the oil..INSANE :eek7: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
