Hey everyone i have a 1993 rodeo 3.2L v6 the problem is that when i drive it 30 to 40 miles at 65 to 70 miles an hour it will start to knock/click real loud the higher the rpm's the louder the knocking/clicking the lower the rpms the quieter (but still loud) the knocking/clicking.Sometimes i can turn off the engine wait a few minutes and restart it and the noise will have went away at other times it can sit 3 to 4 hours and upon restarting it the knocking/clicking sound will still be there. It does not do this all the time and will occassionally do it on shorter distance trips. The sound seems to me like it is coming from the front of the engine.Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks .
Les

My best guess is that your timing belt tensor is on the way out. When you change your Timing Belt it is recomended that you also change the belt tensor, becaue many folks report having their old tensor go out after 10-15K after a belt replacement.

Also, many folks with also replace their water pumps to while the front of the engine is open.

Good luck!

Does your knock come from the right/passenger side of your engine? if so, does it sound like a lifter tap? is this describes you than we have the same problem, I have a 97 3.2 with 117K
