86 Civic DX and 87 CRX Si Engine Swapdpete13 01-21-2004, 09:26 AM Needless to say, I'm a car noob. I have an 86 Civic hatchback DX. A friend of mine has an 87 CRX Si with a rusty frame. The engine is soild, and mine is ready to kick the bucket. I was wondering if I could do a straight swap with out mods. I know that I'm not providing the proper information, but I'm not really sure what I need to prove in terms of proper info. Could anyone help a noob with this? Note, this car is my day to day beater - I love the gas mileage - I have a long commute. Thanks cvcc_wagon 01-21-2004, 06:02 PM it should work with little hassel, i dont know the specifics of it tho deadpool7372 01-21-2004, 10:56 PM It would be a pain but it is possible… Engine, fuel tank, wiring harness, etc… Search on http://www.redpepperracing.com dpete13 01-22-2004, 02:02 PM Any suggestions for books, websites, etc for step by step instructions (besides redpepperracing)? 87civicswapking 01-23-2004, 11:55 PM i have done 4 86 civic motor swaps by myself no books. most shops say its to difficult so i did them myself .i have put the si 1.5 fuel inj into a carb civic. if you got questions i'm sure i have the answer post me back vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
