I've decided to go with eD e12kx subs and an avionixx amp instead of the all Alpine setup that I had planned. Only problem is that the amp that I want is on backorder right now. So I have a choice, I can either wait and get the dual 4 ohm subs and axt 800.2 amp, or I can buy now and go with dual 2 ohm subs and a 4 channel axt 800.4 amp. What do you guys think I should do?

Is having a 4 channel amp bridged going to differ in sound than having a 2 channel amp running in 2 ohm stereo?

Only downside to the 4 channel amp that I see is I'm going to have to buy an extra set of RCA cables and a couple of Y adapters for them.

good things come to those who wait.

the only problem with the 4 channel setup is that ive heard that y adapters can hurt your SQ a little. and im sure you already know, but make sure you send the same signal to both channels if you go the 4 channel route.

I suggest you wait for the 2 channel model as well, or get a mono amp for the subs

I've decided to wait, got an email from them this morning saying that the amp will be in stock by the end of the month, so come february I should have all my gear

good choice. I hope your going with the dual 4 ohm subs as well. I wouldnt recommend 2 ohm subs to anybody

That's a nice choice of equipment you're running.

thank you, after my experience with my last system ( complete Audiobahn setup) I've decided that I need something with SQ that can get just as loud if need be. did some research and questioning and these seem to be my best best, along with the price tag. It's more than half the cost of the Alpine system I had planned.
