510 buying issues

i dont see why people on here have such a hard time finding 510's i bought mine yesterday :iceslolan with no rust ok interior needs paint and the back driver side is pushed in where the tail light is will push right out though has the l16 but found out it has no compression in cyclinder #1 (can you say ka24 swap) :banghead: which im bumbed about but othere than that it only cost me $200 and the guy has like over 50 datsun's z cars and 510 2 doors and wagons and a couple trucks mainly 510's though so why is so hard to find them for you guys???

where did u find urs at? what city/ state are u from? cuz so far its not easy here for me in Cali

i got mine from a guy up here in salem oregon i see them all the time for sale in cali have you ever checked dimequarterly.com?? they have them down there all the time

actually i just cam across a few from dimequarterly.com but most of the 510 from there were from oregon...daym i need to move there or something but yea i think i foundf a potential 510 in SD woohoo!!

Oregon, in my opinion, is the wildlife sanctuary for 510's. Every time i saw one for sale, half the time it was in Oregon, WA State, or somewhere else in the Northwest. :smile:

Here in the east coast, you'd be lucky to even see one...

For those who are thinking about it, my advice is to get one...
However you choose to build it, you will love it...

i just picked up my 510 in san diego today at ab out 11 am this morning. Rust free and a HUGE list of parts came with it as it is still a project car... let me know if you want me to post the list.

I have been looking for a 510 for a little while now, but haven't had much luck. I live in Oregon, and would like to try and get a hold of 90LShatch to find out where in Salem he got his at. I haven't had any luck trying to reach him either, can anyone help?

I have to search farther than a 100 mile radius from my house to even find a decent car that isn't a big three. Everyone wants too much for super high mileage imports in the area, I guess because they're supposed to last over 200k or something. Anyway, I don't even think Datsun sent any cars to Virginia, and even if they did, all the farmers probably rolled overtop of them with their John Deeres.

Actually, my white 510 came from South Carolina.

They can be found, you just have to look for them.

I own two 510s, both retrieved in the east coast. :wink:

I'm pretty sure there are more cows than people here, unfortunately. I'm hoping my prospects will get a little better as I move to a slightly more metropolitan area for school this fall. Would looking in like old junkyards or parts car places be a good idea? Any good actual places to look as opposed to online listings?

Im in san diego and i had to go like 400 miles to get mine. BUT the sweet deal with mine was when i got there i noticed the guy had 2 and both were for sale he was so desperate to get rid of the 2 door he gave it to me when i bought the 4 door..it has been stripped but has nice doors and such maybe ill part it out? the 4 door has l18 motor complete interior...the catch is the motor isnt in the car hehe not that bad actually cause with it out i can paint the engine bay also. So if anyone is in san deigo and is desperate for a stripped datsun e mail me...

Well I'm on the East coast, South East, And the only Datzun i'm seen is a lil Z car, gold, 2 seater, lives in my neighborhood...

Saw a 2 door 510 in my paper a few days ago, said it had a SR20DET swap.
