I have a 96 ford taurus.I replaced the steering column, and now the car will crank but won't run,the theft light stays on.The column that I put in came with a cylinder and keysI don't have the old column with the lock cylinder but I do have the keys from it.Do these keys have a chip in it and is this the source of my problem. Can I take the key profile from the new columns key and have it cut on a key with the original keys chip in it?Will this solve my problem,or will I have to bring it to Ford to have this done.
