Obviously not a dumb question. No idea, myself, I just wanted to make a wise ass comment.

I know that some of them have very stiff ass clutches, and if let out too fast (someone driving with no leg power) the car can 'buck', or jump forward and stall.

A buck is a tool of sorts.. Its used for making custom body parts usually.. What it is a piece of wood(most of the time) that is carved out to be the shape of the part being made. They then use the buck to form and make sure the part will be like they want. Alot of kit car place use bucks to make there new kits, as do those place that make the aluminum body cobra.. I tried to find some pics of some online but didnt really have much luck this is about the best one i found. its pics of a body storage buck.. http://www.ffcobra.com/FAQ/bodybuck02.html
ONe thing that would really help ya out to visulize what one looks lik e.. think of a model air plain.. the wood inner structure looks alot like most bucks look like.. There are some that the get more elebarate and actually make them the same as the body panel it self.. Hope that helps ya a bit.. Later Rick S

It is better to ask a question once and look stupid, then to never ask and remain stupid. :)
