I've been having this problem for a few months now.. I'll be at a complete stop and when i press the gas the car will hesitate, jerk forward, make a weird sound like its going to stall out, and then go.. then last night i was sitting at a stop light and the car made that weird sound and then just turned off but restarted right back up.. Anyone have idea what the problem could be? thanks

Have you eliminated tune-up items.Does the car recover if you back off acceleration?

I agree with Joe there, most definitely. You need to go through and check all of your major tune-up requirements, this is most commonly what is neglected and what causes engine hesitation.
