My Keyless remote works but doesn't beephajunbae 01-16-2004, 11:01 PM Hello, I have 97 Camry, it still runs like new. For some reason I haven't used keyless remote transmitter over a year and I am trying to use it again. It works very well with a battery newly installed but it doesn't beep at all. It did beep before. Is there any way to make it beep? Does it have something to do with Fuse? Please let me know. Thanks. Steve Joe W 01-17-2004, 02:18 PM Not sure why it dont beep.Do the lights flash? It's unlikely that it has anything to do with a fuse. yotatechie04 01-18-2004, 04:01 PM Well if you can figure out what causes this, you should let me know, because I find the beeping with my V.I.P system to be rather annoying. I would love to disable this. hajunbae 01-18-2004, 05:57 PM In vain. Every fuse was OK. Could I get an answer at such shops as Autozone or checkers? Joe W 01-18-2004, 07:45 PM I doubt it,probably only from a dealer. yotatechie04 01-23-2004, 07:49 PM I've never really heard of the "beeping" to just stop working on the V.I.P. system in the Camry. Although, as Joe has said, more than likely there would be no way that you could get it done unless you went somewhere like the nearest Toyota dealer, or there is a possiblility that you could to go a Circuit City and have the Audio/Security people take a look at it, and they might be able to help, but that's about the only two options you'd have. As I've said before, if anyone figures out the cause of this, let me know, I really want to disable the sound on mine. It's a real pain in the ass. Joe W 01-23-2004, 09:10 PM After further investigation this is quite possibly a programable feature-but the secret for programming it is beyond me. salempastor 01-24-2004, 10:58 AM check out the 98 camry--stock alarm listed several places previous to your thread. There I listed how to turn off (mistakenly) and turn on the Piezo yotatechie04 01-25-2004, 12:54 PM I've found out that there is a way to disable and enable the beep in the car, without disconnecting anything, it's programmable. I have the program guide if you want further information, let me know. acarapella 10-17-2007, 09:08 PM LOCATION OF THE PIEZO CHIRPER ON CAMRYs I know this thread old but i just found it while trying to figure out why my camry's VIP system wasnt beeping anymore (10-17-2007). The beeper is located in the corner of the firewall and driverside finder, under the hood. it is a red cylinder about an inch or so in diameter, and is wrapped in greyish brown foam, tiewrapped to a hose. I simple cut the old one off and wen to radioshack to get a new one. the new one was 3-18 volts, 85 decibles. Not nearly as audible as the original when it was working, but it does the trick. HOW TO MAKE YOU CAMRY's ALARM MORE SENSITIVE I also found a box on the floor under the steering wheel behind the door moldings for the glass breakage sensor. It has a sensitivity adjustment that is set to about 3 or 4 out of 11 by default. Setting it to eleven will make your car's alarm go off is sombody was to hit it or try to break your window; a good knock will set it off. Keep in mind the circle under the security light is the microphone who's sensitivity your adjusting. the adjustment is done easily with a screw driver on the box. Hope this helps; this beeper seems to die when the car is aobut 5 years old. xfeejayx 10-17-2007, 10:49 PM sticky^^? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
