Hey. I was wondering, how hard is the Z to tune and what are some sites that sell parts for it, if they do. And I'd like to keep the stock L24(?) in there.
Thanks for your replies

Have you checked motorsport auto?

http://zcarparts.com/

go there and get a catalog, they have tons of things for your car.

Z's are great! I love my 240z... Z's can be made pretty damn fast, at a fairly resonable price.

Try asking on Got-z.com (http://got-z.com/forums/index.php).

They can answer anything you have to ask...

Grendel!!! Welcome back man.

awesome. thanks a lot. oh, one more thing, i've read that the L24 was the ancestor to the RBs, so would it be that hard to drop one in?

There was a red 260 with a rb in it on hybridz.org you might wanna ask around over there...

I would just go for a small block chevy swap, tons of hp, tons of torque, the entire motor can be behind the front shock towers, doesn't affect handling too much...

Well, I'm kinda torn on what to do with my Z.

She diffinately needs more power, stock L24 with 150hp just isn't cutting it. It's got a 5 speed tranny out of a '78 280zx and a R200 w/LSD diff. So it can burn some rubber if you dump the clutch, but that's about all she's got in her.

I like the sound of the Inline 6 alot, just needs more power. I know I can dig another 80hp out of the motor with Triple webers, header, stage II cam and a larger exhaust. Which would put me at about 230hp.

That'd be sweet, but it'd cost me some money.

V8 swap is by far the cheapest way to get power. $2300 gets you a 330hp/380tq Chevy 350 crate motor. But what would drive the cost up would be buying the transmission to handle the power. I seriously doubt the current transmission would appreciate all that power. :grinno:

At 2300lbs whatever I do to the car will make it a rocketship. :smokin:

The 240Z was supposed to have a 51/49 ratio stock.

My 73 240z is fun but i'd rather drive my Supra any day.
