what's over drive ??racsoton 01-15-2004, 05:55 AM Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me out. I want to know the meaning of 'over drive' in automatic transmission and what it's for? I heard that has something to do with the fuel economy, but how? I own a bluebird 1.8 GS (auto) with no owner's manual :-( and this is the first time I drive an automatic.. cheers, rachman Primo_Primera 02-04-2004, 10:41 PM Yes, It improves ya economy, it does this by once you have let off the throttle it will go into 4 th and you'll feel you'll go foward a bit when it does that. :screwy: :grinno:  nissan2nr88 03-16-2004, 12:41 PM 2 words extra gear Primo_Primera 03-16-2004, 10:50 PM WHAT! :screwy: it doesnt give an extra gear it puts you in the highest gear :grinno:  :loser: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
