U-Haul WTF?JDMDB7 01-14-2004, 07:05 PM Hey guys, I called U-Haul today to rent a trailer to tow my ever-broken motorcyle to the shop again. To my surprise they will no longer rent a tow-behind trailer to anyone pulling it with an Explorer! I was enfuriated. Of all the tow vehicles in the world the only two they won't rent to are the Explorer and the Wrangler. So aside from giving them a good swift kick in the nuts can someone suggest an alternative place to rent an in-town motorcycle trailer? This is in Denver, btw. Thanks in advance. fmsintx 02-16-2004, 05:58 AM Write to them and blast them often. I understand that the Mercury Mountaineer, Lincoln Aviator and Mazda are deemed okay. Brand Descrimination here I say. Explorer uses need to unite on this one Fordman92 04-21-2004, 04:06 PM sad thing is that the mountaineer is the same truck with minor differences...i would just go with the swift kick in the nuts!! pwood@excite.com 04-22-2004, 08:09 AM You are probably better off, Uhaul rents the most outdated pos trailers and trucks. Last trailer I rented had three breakaway chains, two and one for the brake system which I was sure was inoperable. In 700 miles, I lost all of the chains, I had the Uhaul guy put the trailer on as I was not going to be responsible for that mess. Also, most lights were inoperable and whats with having to buy the conversion wires, heres an idea, put a standard connection on the thing. 911S_TARGA_RSR 04-22-2004, 08:12 AM Just don't tell them your SUV is an Explorer. Tell them it is a old lincoln. lOl. NoXferCase 04-22-2004, 09:11 AM Just don't tell them your SUV is an Explorer. Tell them it is a old lincoln. lOl. If only it were that simple. THEY put it on, so THEY check. I was really in a bind a month or so ago so I borrowed a friend's Expedition. I hadn't planned it that way, but the paperwork said "Ford Exp". Brought the trailer back to work, hooked it up to my Explorer and used it for the weekend. Monday morning I used the Expedition to return it. Doing it that way is a pain, but like I said. I was REALLY in a bind. Fordman92 04-22-2004, 03:06 PM If only it were that simple.
