Dear Fourm,
I have an 1989 Camry (4 Cyl). The turn indicator switch does not return back to it's normal position after making the turn. I've tried to look at the design of the indicator system. I see that near the right side of the steering there is a small spring that gets locked into position when the indicator is turned up or down. But as the steering is moved the hub on the steering tries to kick the lever into it's original position but the system does not respond. I have to manually move the levers up and down for turning off the indicators. I believe that the spring has lost it's tension and has shrunk from it's original size. Please help me out!

Thank You,
-Jim.

I'm not absolutely certain about the '89,but this generally requires a switch replacement.
