what's a headsusan94civic 01-14-2004, 12:53 PM I know this is a newbie question but I did my research and have found no clear definition or link. So maybe we can clear this up for newbie and answer basic question about head. 1) What's a head? 2) Why it's good to swap heads in engine? 3) What's a good head swap for my engine D15b7? 4) Where a good education link for head and head swapping. i_a_n112784 01-14-2004, 01:09 PM One and two are real easy. 1. A head is basically the upper half of the engine. It contains the cam, or cams, and the valves. It is responsible for putting the fuel into the combustion chamber, and letting the exhaust gases out. The intake manifold and the sxhaust manifold are also bolted to it. 2. You can get more power by switching them, and in some cases, add vtech. Maybe someone else can help you on 3 and 4, because I don't know any good sites on this. Miataracer 01-14-2004, 04:40 PM I knew a comment like that was coming up! mattyoung33 01-14-2004, 05:02 PM [QUOTE=2.
