93 Metro doors jammed!

I just bought a 93 Geo Metro LSi Convertible and it's in great shape except the 2 doors both are extremely difficult to open - the passenger door seems to be jammed and we still haven't gotten it to open.

On the inside the passenger door handle is broken off which makes it even worse. The driver's side handle is touchy and looks like it might break off at any time.

Where can I get replacement door handle / locking mechanisms? I've searched the web for Geo parts but never have seen these.

Also is this a common problem and how can I get a temporary fix?

One more thing - looking for an owner's manual for the car - have also searched the web for this but no joy.

I feel ya on that one. I've got a 91' vert. The internals are probably all loose. Only way to really find out what's goin on is to take off the door panel, and look at the internals. There's a plastic bushing that connects the door handle rod to the latch. If that plastic bushing is gone, or the metal track is worn out, it will be difficult to open. Try pulling the door up and in while pulling the inside handle. Worked for me before I took my door apart. Try www.car-part.com to search your local junkyards for convertibles.
