Does anyone know the stock hp on a 97 SOHC 4.0? also is $4500 (what I paid for mine) a decent price for a 97 eddie b with 178000 miles (30000 on motor)

I'm not sure if this helps but I have a '99 Ecplorer Sport with the 4.0 SOHC engine and it puts down 210 horsepower, while the standard OHV motor only puts out 160HP. Now mine's a 1999 and yours is a 1997, but i wouldn't think that it would be diffrent?

On the price you paied for yours I'm not sure if you got a good deal or not, I paied about 10 Grand for my '99 with leather, factory CD, Sunroof, Back Seat Passenger Controols (Radio and Climate) with about 60,000 miles on it, but it's in MINT cond. Oh yeah and it is 4X4 too.

And since I sold my old car for 7 grand I only had to pay about 3 grand. And the car was worth 5,000 when I bought it. (I buy junker cars and fix em up and sell them for a nice profit; for a summertime hobbie) Pretty good since I'm only 17!
