hello everyone i have a almost standard 91 r32 gtr,

im looking to do a single turbo upgrade for midrange power, i have come across an extremerylycheap HKS T04E turbo, i know they are perfect for a 1j or rb25 but will it be good for my rb26, i could also get another turbo ( HKS T300s) but its too big too dear and i really dont want to go down the strip too often. any advice would be tops thanks

first thing it would be easier if you told us what power you are looking for.

ok sweet. You don't need to go to the expense or deal with the lag associated with a big single setup. A pair of GT2530's which bolt straight up the factory manifold will flow that easily, so will Group A N1 Turbos. You are looking at a full bottom end overhaul to keep it reliable. The factory conrod bolts are not that strong and have a tendency to stretch and break off.
There is quite a bit of associated gear needed to acheive your goal.

the hks t04e will cost me 550 bucks, the only reason why i would bother doing an upgrade, im happy with the standard power, but at that price i thought might aswell seeing is i can make my own manifold, and get a cheap wastegate. the t04e is a large turbo but do you think it will flow enough exhaust gases for the 2.6?

For that kind of power you will need other 'essential' bits like bigger injectors, afms, mappable ecu, decatt pipe & exhaust etc.

I have used 2530's for two years with stock internals and not one thing went wrong except I did suffer a piston failure (my own fault).
