Idel Screwdamir831 01-11-2004, 02:13 PM Where exactly is the idle screw located on the 95 dx throttle body? I have a D15B7 and have idleing problems, but I read on the forum that adjusting the screw could help, just can't seem to find it on my throttle body. Thanx Kinked210 01-11-2004, 02:54 PM I had a lot of trouble finding it...someone posted a diagram but its not where it said it was. I was wondering if your problem was the surge from 1k-3k RPMS in idle? That's my problem, but the idle screw adjustment isnt the answer. A mechanic at Pep Boys told me it's a vacuum or sensor problem, and that if you lowered the idle by adjusting the screw your car would die after idling for a while. damir831 01-11-2004, 03:11 PM Yeah, I think it is a leak or the tps sensor, but I wanted to check out that screw. I had the problem after I got a swap, so it might be a headgasket. I wanna make sure it's not something small before I take it to a mechanic. I replaced the Oxygen sensor. The engine light has been on since the swap, and the guy told me it was the O2 sensor. So I'm slowly crossing some things out. My guess would be the TPS or MAP sensor, just wanted to screw with the screw a little. Thanx Anyway. Kinked210 01-11-2004, 04:13 PM Sorry I can't help you..but I can't find my screw either...and my engine light also comes on after idling for a little while. The other day I pulled up next to a Mustang 5.0 and my car was revving all loud and he thought I wanted to race...lol..what an embarassment. damir831 01-11-2004, 06:04 PM Sorry I can't help you..but I can't find my screw either...and my engine light also comes on after idling for a little while. Yes, I know, especially embarrissing if you have an OBX Rice machine muffler that was on the car before I bought it. So, does anyone else know where the screw is? Does anyone have a pic of where it SHOULD be? Enraged 01-11-2004, 07:38 PM Probably your MAP sensor. Not the idling screw. Kinked210 01-11-2004, 08:13 PM what should one do if it is the MAP sensor..replace? 95civicCX 01-11-2004, 09:26 PM No, pray to the car GODS and tell them to send you a new one.... damir831 01-11-2004, 10:08 PM No, pray to the car GODS and tell them to send you a new one.... Where can I get a car bible? Anyways, that's the sensor on top of the throttle body that is being held by 2 screw, right? Is that the only thing that would need to be replaced, if it really is the map sensor, or is there something else to the map sensor? Enraged 01-12-2004, 01:32 AM what should one do if it is the MAP sensor..replace? Take it out, lick it a couple of times, and then put it back in. If that doesn't work, yes replace it, but make sure its cf. damir831 01-12-2004, 01:51 PM but make sure its cf. cf? Seriously though, do you just unscrew it, screw the new one back on, and reset the ECU? I'm looking at one on ebay, does it matter what engine (throttle body) it comes off? They're saying that as long as it's a 88-2000 civic, the map sensor will fit. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
