When I turn on the ignition, the Check Engine Light does not come on. It is supposed to be on for a short while. Any ideas how I can fix this. I opened the front panel - there is not place to put in a bulb for the Check Engine light.

:dunno: call your local dealer and ask how is it possible that your car doen't have bulb for CEL nor base for it.

this is a picture of back of gauge cluster. you probably already saw it.
so your are saying you don't have a hole for CEL. Hole for CEL is right one, one of two holes in lower right corner.

On my 97 - you have to remove the white backing, then the screws holding in the gauges to get to the check engine light bulb itself.

I just replaced mine today b/c I can't pass emissions in GA without it working, that didn't rectify the problem though (it not coming on)

Anyone know of a problem that could be preventing the light from coming on??? A diagram of the CEL circuit would be great if anyone out there has one
