Hello all, on my way in to work today my truck lost engine power, and headlights when I flipped the heater switch to high. It will crank over but no go. I checked all of the fuses and they are all good. I would have expected to see the heater fuse blown. The hazards work but no horn or interior lights. I have the haynes and Clymer manuals and I am trying to locate a master fuse or something like it. Does this truck have such a thing. Keep in mind that this truck has over 200K on it. Thanks for the help.

I don't think there is a master fuse, but since your horn and interior lights don't work, it must be a fuse. Check your fuse panel and see if the one for the horn/interior lights is any good...short of that i would say check for a thermal melt down somewhere under the dash. If it will crank over i'd be checking for spark, and if you have spark i would be looking at the ignition module located inside your distributor. AND i would check for power at your ignition coil, maybe you blew something there. The other fuse you should check is the "ECM" or "EEC" fuse, this is for your computer. Under the hood there are a couple of relays on the firewall, i know one is the fuel pump relay, not sure what the other one is, but it might be worth a look. hope that helped.

I figured out what my problem was. Seems that the fuseable link wire was broken for some time and seperated and finally broke. Soldered it back together and all is well.

Wherer was the fusible link located???

It is located by the front of the intake manifold. It is a round white tubular piece of plastic with wires going in and out of it. Mine broke right where it goes into the plastic so I went to the local auto store and bought a new piece of fuseable link wire and rewired it.
