Hi,

got 2004 Accord Coupe V6 EX. When I'm on an uneven/rough road, especially in a cold weather there's a crackling sound coming out from the dashboard under the windshield on the drivers' side... pretty annoying... Sound's like a dashboard plastic edge touching or rubbing against something.... Anybody had that too?
Secondly, when you start a
car in a cold weather you have a lot of steam coming
out of the exhaust, but normally after a while when
the engine warms up it disappears. With my car it's
always steaming no matter how long I drive... I heard the same from the guy with Acura CL.

From a friend of mine who bought Accord 2004 and had the same problem as I:

Him:
Sounds like you are having the same problem we had
> with the car... same sound and location. The noise

Me:
Hmm... for me it does it every time I'm on a rough
road, no matter if it's cold or not. I was thinking
it's more like the plastic edge of the dashboard
itself touching something....

Him:
I thought the same thing as you regarding the noise. I tried putting
shims around the area to stop the noise, but that did not work. I was
skeptical when they came back and said it was loose cabling in the
steering column. My only guess is that the noise from the loose cables
echoed through the dashboard and out of the defrost vent, making it sound like the noise was coming from the windshield.

I recently purchased a new 2004 Accord Coupe EX V6 6MT. Starting about 2 weeks ago, in cold weather over bumpy roads, I also get a crackling sound coming from the lower driver's side corner of the windsheild (or so it seems). I am taking my car to the dealership on Monday for an oil change/inspection, and want to get this problem fixed. However, I am afraid they will say they can't duplicate the problem.

Did anyone get this fixed? I read the post about the wiring, but I am skeptical that my problem maybe different, since it is definitely some sort of plastickly crackling sound coming from the windshield area, like it is a little loose or something.

Thanks in advance.
