It's been a while... (yet another Tamiya STI)MikeDeuce 01-08-2004, 12:53 AM Hey folks... looks like it's been about a year since I last posted :o Finally found some free time to finish this one (95% box stock): http://www.pixelstorm.net/models/wrx/front.jpg http://www.pixelstorm.net/models/wrx/posed.jpg http://www.pixelstorm.net/models/wrx/rear.jpg -mike spoolin12 01-08-2004, 01:37 AM Looks great! Neat and clean! :) clem24 01-08-2004, 02:48 AM Wow, it's so...... WHITE! Looking great, could seriously benefit from some black or grey wash in the door recesses. Other than that, I think it's a good combo. Mike, you frequent the MR2 board? Your name sounds familiar (if you are, deuce is a dead giveaway, ha!). clem.. snk33y 01-08-2004, 04:35 AM Nice, clean build, flawless paint work, well done!!! Im a big fan of white and yellow cars, this is a nice change from your everyday blue WRX. slk320 01-08-2004, 11:05 AM looks clean. I would love to see some panel lines that will bring it alive! MikeDeuce 01-08-2004, 01:13 PM Figured that decision would come back to haunt me... and I wanted to do it, too, but I've actually never black washed, so I guess this is the model I get to learn with :) Mike, you frequent the MR2 board? Your name sounds familiar (if you are, deuce is a dead giveaway, ha!). Good memory, clem! That is me, a fellow '91t owner: http://pixelstorm.net/i/mr2/450x250_a.jpg Always nice to see familiar faces. clem24 01-08-2004, 07:53 PM Ah yeah, love those white MR2s, especially with the front moulding on. I am still waiting on my '93 lip. Anyway, another small nitpick I spotted: your tires are mounted inside out (pirelli F Zero Asymmetrico right?). The directional tread part is supposed to be on the inside on the rim I believe... http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/118295P_ZERO.jpg clem.. tonioseven 01-08-2004, 08:32 PM Welcome back! I like that Scooby! joecwlaw 01-09-2004, 02:56 PM snowy white. TE37 looks great on white WRX. rare! drumcat 01-09-2004, 03:10 PM dude that STI is sick!! EMAXX 01-09-2004, 05:58 PM That looks awesome. What rims are those? The Subie in white looks great. njh 01-09-2004, 08:58 PM Nice and clean. Good work! Jay! 01-10-2004, 01:57 AM I think it looks great! :D A tip: When you take the tires off to turn them around take a file or some sandpaper and sand off the mold lines on the tires. In the first pic, it looks as though it's balancing like a grade-school chair. ;) MikeDeuce 01-12-2004, 07:37 PM Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Anyway, another small nitpick I spotted: your tires are mounted inside out (pirelli F Zero Asymmetrico right?)... Man, I'll have to check that out when I get a chance, you've got some great eyes to have spotted that. I can barely see the tread on my screen. :sly: EMAXX: Those were "1/24 Volk Racing TE37MAG 18-inch Tire/Wheel set (http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?FUJ19202)"... I have painted them with the same Tamiya Pure White Spray used on the body, but the original white they come shipped in is pretty close as well. Jay: Thanks for the tip, I'll have to make it a habit to check under the tires in the future... I tend to forget about the rubber flash. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
