I recently picked up a toy of the 2003 Impreza WRC.
The box says 1/24 scale, and it looked accurate, so I bought one. I don't have the Tamiya 2002 WRC kit with me at this moment, but I have Maisto's 1/24 diecast, so I compared the size. From the wheelbase, door panels basic dimensions, the toy looks quite accurate.
It's a bit expensive of $20 at Target, but it's made of plastic, so it's easy to work with, and probably cheaper than the Fujimi kit in the U.S.
Here're some pics.

Interesting, I think I will have to see if I can find one of these to add the Subaru collection.

Those are finally out in the US? I've seen them on eBay for $40-75 for the Takara versions. The rest of the Transformers in that series looks really cool too, another Subie and new Viper, a Jeep CJ and Optimus Prime. All 1/24 scale and accurate with interiors and engines...the engines usually become the guns.

$20 at target is really cheap, unless it's some knock-off... I was ready to pay almost $60 for one in HK a month ago!! I gotta get to the states... Who makes this? Is it Takara?

clem..

I've been watching for one at WalMart. ;) It's "Smokescreen," right?

Hasbro markets the plastic one here in the U.S.; the Takara ones have die-cast body panels, hence the $60 price tag.

I'd been wondering if the transfrmer could be super-detailed w/ parts from the Tamiya kit. :hehe: Also, IIRC, they make two versions: onne for car 7 and car 8. :)

Kitbashers, go get the plastic body one. It's much easier to work with.

The color is pretty close, but it's not metalic. I'm thinking of repainting the whole thing, using Tamiya decal, clear coating, and still maintaining the transformability. (LOL)

This is the diecast one. It is so damn heavy. I love it and planning to get the Dodge viper one. :)
