I will be having new pictures of the Camaro on wednesday or thursday. Updates will be the engine attached to the chassis, probably some chassis work aswell. DJ_Merle 02-08-2004, 03:25 PM well, it's been a long time since I worked on this kit due to the loss of my instructions. But, I have worked around that. I have been looking at pictures of the real car, and have been working my way to success! So far, the following has been completed: Most of the interior Chassis painted Minor body work Quick note: Nothing is clued yet because I still have more painting to do. http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo98.jpg http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo99.jpg http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo100.jpg pettercardoso 02-08-2004, 04:04 PM Great job Adam! keep us posted. :D DJ_Merle 02-08-2004, 07:51 PM Once again, just some fitting tests. I have removed the wiring on the engine because I am going to do it over because I was not happy with the way they looked. Here's what has been done since the last update. Quick note: I added a little extra something in this car. I had put an actual shift boot on the shifter, and I made it so the shifter can acutally move to go from 1st to second an so on. http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo101.jpg http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo102.jpg DJ_Merle 02-08-2004, 08:20 PM DJ_Merle 02-09-2004, 08:08 PM what does everyone think so far? Note: The grille isnt on yet, just a fitting test. Same goes for the antenna Flea 02-09-2004, 08:52 PM looks good so far .. :) let me know if you need any refrence photos of certain areas on the car ... and i will snap some for you on my car outside ... about the only thing i see is the heater hoses .. maybe make em a lil longer so they will lay off to the side of the motor more .. instead of running over one of the carbs. DJ_Merle 02-09-2004, 09:13 PM yeah, Im planning on letting them have a little more slack so they can hang. Would u be able to get some good pics of under the chassis? And some picks of the engine? Flea 02-09-2004, 10:59 PM i can take the engine pics tomorrow for sure, the chassis pics i will get as soon as it stops raining .. gotta change the oil so can snap pics while i am under there DJ_Merle 02-10-2004, 11:54 AM Awsome, thank u so much!:D nervestrikes 02-10-2004, 02:31 PM That is a sweet model, I did this one too. DJ_Merle 02-10-2004, 06:05 PM That is a sweet model, I did this one too. I know you got to be enjoying the build cause I loved it. http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/984111CAMARO.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/482081CAMARO2.jpg Hey! Awsome job on ur model. Do u still have the instructions??? Im in despate need of them. If you do, could u scan them and send them to me through an email? mm_merle_man@hotmail.com krebs128 02-10-2004, 08:42 PM jeez, i seriously couldn't tell if some of the pics were reference pics of an actual car or the model itself!! excellent work! DJ_Merle 02-10-2004, 08:58 PM thanks man!:D DJ_Merle 02-10-2004, 10:29 PM Hello again. Here is a video of the shifter that ACTUALLY moves. Now, there is a little black stick u can see that moves it through part of the vid. Dont worry about that, that is just there to show u that it moves. http://home.ripway.com/2004-1/64345/StopMotion8.avi PRIVATEER 02-11-2004, 12:21 AM Nice job........I am considering this kit after I am done with my Porsche. Model car Garage makes a photo etch kit for it, I'd like to get that and Monogram's 1/12 scale Vette. I'd take the bigblock from the Vette and put it in the Camaro. How is the overall fit of the Camaro? Is it pretty detailed? DJ_Merle 02-11-2004, 07:11 AM It is extremely detailed!:D nervestrikes 02-11-2004, 09:11 AM Hey! Awsome job on ur model. Do u still have the instructions??? Im in despate need of them. If you do, could u scan them and send them to me through an email? mm_merle_man@hotmail.com SORRY, I sure don't have the instructions anymore. Good luck though and keep up the outstanding work. EMAXX 02-11-2004, 09:14 AM Wow. This looks great. I really want one now. It has to somewhat easier to detail since a lot of the parts are almost twice as big as a "normal" model. Keep us posted. DJ_Merle 02-11-2004, 07:10 PM nervestrikes 02-12-2004, 10:01 AM Oh now, that is sweet. I am amazed that you are able to do all of this with out the instructions. That is impressive. DJ_Merle 02-12-2004, 04:36 PM I wasn't happy with the plain gold on the master cylinder, so I found a picture of an actual one with the gold and some silver with it. Here is the comparison. http://friendpages.com/pages/artist/adamcarvalho/photo106.jpg DJ_Merle 02-12-2004, 07:09 PM how do u think it looks?:) DJ_Merle 02-16-2004, 10:12 PM http://ripway.com/members/getfile.asp?file=\2004-1\64345\DSC00035%2EJPG http://ripway.com/members/getfile.asp?file=\2004-1\64345\DSC00052%2EJPG http://ripway.com/members/getfile.asp?file=\2004-1\64345\DSC00038%2EJPG DJ_Merle 05-09-2004, 07:45 PM Been a LONG time since I have worked on this, did the brakes, quick note, I painted them like this and sanded them like this to add realisim, or to make it look like its been used a bit. enjoy! http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_37.jpg DJ_Merle 05-09-2004, 08:13 PM comments are welcome:) Howielong 05-09-2004, 08:54 PM Wow looks good. I like what you did to the brakes. Sweet. Renegade 05-10-2004, 07:42 AM Great job man! Really awesome detail work. DJ_Merle 08-08-2004, 07:24 PM Hello again. Every so often I feel up for the challenge to try and build this thing since I have no intructions. I re-did the brakes, I like it lookin show build:P: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_208.jpg As well as some chassis work: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_209.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_210.jpg Now, someone's got to help me here. Im trying to put the brakes on, but I don't know how they fit in, because I tried doing it like any other car and it doesn't work, another way I did it worked, but I've never seena GM car with it like this. See what I mean and see if any one on here can help me:): Normal: http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_206.jpg Un-Normal:http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_207.jpg Comments are welcome too!:D Hawk312 08-08-2004, 09:51 PM DJ, Sorry I haven`t been able to get those instructions for you. I wasn`t ignoring you (really!!) so please accept my apologies. My Camaro isn`t here with me, but if I remember correctly, the "unnormal" way is the way I put mine on. I think they may have done it this way so you could see the brake detail when you look at the car from the bottom???? By the way, it looks good so far. :) What color is it going to be? DJ_Merle 08-08-2004, 10:07 PM It's going to be Black. Thanks man, guess I'm going to have to put them in "unnormal" DJ_Merle 08-09-2004, 04:07 PM DJ_Merle 08-11-2004, 04:09 PM comments ne1? Layla's Keeper 08-11-2004, 04:40 PM The detailing so far looks pretty good, but I think that more time should've been spent removing that mold-line on the master cylinder. Also, are you going to be adding the distinctive linkage of the cross flow dual quad setup? It's pretty distinctive and out in the open after all. But, you have done a lot of good work so far. I am liking the looks of this so far. krebs128 08-11-2004, 08:02 PM amazing detail, this is like a dream! it's all just so beautiful! DJ_Merle 08-16-2004, 02:26 PM Hey guys! thanks for the comments, got alot of progress to show now!, grill finished, chassis finished, engine fully detailed! http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_247.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_248.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_249.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_250.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_251.jpg Hawk312 08-16-2004, 07:18 PM Looking great!!! I have also had the pleasure to assemble that same model car. Here you can see several pictures of the model kit: http://la-hobbyteca.iespana.es/la-hobbyteca/Galerias/Edwing/camaro-69.htm Regards Edwing666 Zlaja_ 08-24-2004, 11:25 AM YO!! have you attached the brake discs yet? if not, try to flip them so the caliper points to the rear, know what i mean? at the pic u showed it was [(_) try to rotate it 180 degrees so i t looks like (_)] i dont know if it wud work but try it out! Tikiman 08-24-2004, 01:10 PM Was that your face reflected in one of the instruments on teh instrument panel? Have a look, it's on the first page i think. DJ_Merle 08-24-2004, 02:06 PM Was that your face reflected in one of the instruments on teh instrument panel? Have a look, it's on the first page i think. hehe, probably. DJ_Merle 11-30-2004, 04:52 PM Primed and ready for paint. This paintjob has been delayed for the longest time because of the first attempt. The paint I bought was shit and wrecked the body big time. But thanks to ImolaEK(RB26DETT)'s paint removal process I was able to fix it, thanks alot man:). So here it is. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_92.jpg http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/132388Picture_931.jpg lancer07 11-30-2004, 07:33 PM lookin good :smokin: GvEman 12-01-2004, 03:29 AM sweet! DJ_Merle 03-12-2005, 08:40 PM primera man 03-13-2005, 05:18 AM Somehow missed this thread. Doing the same kit at the moment also. Your is looking sweet so far. proosen 03-13-2005, 08:45 AM Just browsed through this thread, looking good. You might want to flip the steering wheel around the other way as the "knobs" usually is on the backside. What I mean is that the "ring" should be attached in front of the spokes instead of behind as it is on your pics. Compare with the real thing and you'll see what I mean. Very nice build in all other aspects, looking forward to see it finished.
