I have 96 intergra LS with stock engine and auto trans(yes auto).I'm not trying to race the world or be the fastest car but would really like a LITTLE pep in the step.I do have header and cat back exhaust. What I really want is nos at wot. Will this hurt my engine and what kind and how much should I go with.Do I use wet or dry? What size shot can the stock 1.8 lt take? And last thing I remember right now is when I hit 105 mph it won't pick up any more speed, any suggestions would be appreciated. If you install not when wot, does it spray until you let off the gas.I would like to also mention I would like the easiest nos to install and a kit that comes complete with everything to install.Thanx for all help

sleeper? the Nitrous will help obviously but first I dont think it will help it enough to call it a sleeper?
... I dunno but my oppionion of a sleeper is like a Ford Escort or a Mazda 626 that runs 14's. Integras are generally quick cars (not fast but quick) and just by looking if there are no decals you wont be able to tell if the engine is a LS or a GS-R so for an integra to be considered a sleeper it would have to look bone stock and be mighty fast im thinking 13's even 14's with an Integra would be considered pretty good !

oh I almost forgot about the Nitrous thing , Im not a mechanic but I would think that just putting Nitrous in your car with absalutly nothing else in it would rip the engine apart ..no?

dont do nitrous , if you want a faster car , get a manual trans, intake headers ,and exaust , the three work well together and its not too much money or damage to your engine , compared to nitrous anyway, but if you have money id also go to a better engine GS-R or Type R

You should turbo it. As far as nitrous goes, I've heard that your car can typically handle half the stock HP. So in your case a 70 shot, but I wouldnt go that high. Maybe a 55. WOT would be a good idea and minimize damage and wear. Wet vs Dry is an ongoing battle, but 75 and up seeing as how it requires more fuel, Id say wet would be good. A 55 or 60 should be fine with a dry kit if properly tuned.

What mods need to be done to computer to let it go over 104 mph?And to one of the replies-nos is cheaper than turbo-even though turbo would be sweet, thats why I just want low shot nos at wot.thanx for all post's

How many miles are on the car, or do you beat on it? The clutch might be slipping a little...

Read more carefully he said it was an automatic tranny. I have no clue why it won't go over 104mph. That is really strange, I have never heard that before. As fas as the N20, nitrous, juice (not nos) goes if you are serious about the nitrous then go wet, if you just want a little pep every now and then get the dry kit. But I warn you once you get the juice it will become easier and easier to convince yourself to up the shot more and more. So I always suggest the wet kits. And yes your car can handle 75 hp shots. I have been running 65-80 hp shots for 2yrs now, it is all in the tuning, install and self control <--- this being one of the most important.

I have header and cat back exhaust, and thanx for pointing out to some that I did say it was an automatic.I will get true cold air intake soon(before installing nitrous)Where would some sort of restricktor be at?integralover what chip are you refering to?Teggy Pwnage the car only has 68,000 miles and not hard driven miles(yet). To all-the car just won't go any faster then 104 mph,any suggestion on what might be causing the restrickion-like ecm etc...I have a 95 integra that I might try swaping the ecm to see if it runs any better(this is just a car I picked up to turn around and sell.It was theft recovery(needs new dash wiring harness, cluster, brake work, body work and paint)Its just plane jane w/out abs or cruise. Are you able to put v tech head on this 1.8lt auto?Because I thought you can only use with manual trans(because of wiring harness)?

yea you can put v-tech on it. as long as it is a b18 which it is. the chip im referring to is a skunk2 racing chip. i ofund mine on ebay for about $20 including 3 day shipping. i do say that i got lucky to find a good person. though i did have to solder it myself. and the difference is very noticeable. and im just throwing this one out. my back calipers were sticking and i could not figure it out for about 9 months. thought it was everything else except the back. but i finally replaced them 2 days ago and my speed has picked up alittle.

You are not living up to your username very well  It is spelled VTEC and that is the only way to spell it. I don't think your car has one of these

Excuse me for not spelling VTEC correctly as I was in a hurry and on my lunch break!Anyway are there any positive suggestions? At what rpm does this chip help most?If I put the VTEC mhead on then how would I wire it to run-because the vtec comes with manual and I have auto?

You would need to do a tranny converstion. I don't know of any way to make it work, without swapping the ecu's.

Well if I can get to 104 mph before most,I would be pleased. And yes the vtech phone post was funny!

It was nothing personal, it happens to almost everyone who does it. The two major things to always avoid are: v-tech and nos. Those are the two biggest things things that most people hate. So if you spell either one oif those like that then expect to get something similar as a reply. :icon16:

Yea most people don't really understand how well the honda motors are built until they rebuild one or have to work on one and they compare it to most other companies.

Where do you look for a govenor?

whtteg
01-10-2004, 03:13 PM
It is something that is programed into the ecu. The ecu should not be limiting the speed governor to 104. Maybe because it is a auto it does but My car before the remapped ecu would do 130 and no governor.

drake 60
01-10-2004, 05:35 PM
im not sure where you look for it, i am not a mechanic for any make of car but the governor is a programed chip that just gets pluged in right?
