Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected .How to fix.

98 camry v6 87,500 miles

Check engine light came on. Had misfires in cylinders 3&5 and Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Excessive Detected . I changed the plugs and wires and that corrected the misfires but how do I correct the Excessive Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

You'll want to go and take a look at the intake manifold. Be sure to check all vacuum lines, and you probably should replace all of the lines that are attached to the manifold, since they've probably aged and are mostly deteriorated. You'll also want to check the EGR valve, and the filters, gaskets, and everything attached to them. Be sure to go and check all of the electrical connectors on the throttle body, knock sensor, and EGR assembly. Let me know if this helps, if you need further help, let me know.

replace the egr vale I work for toyota and they all fail at this milage

That's not exactly true, I've got over almost 90,000 mi on my Camry and my EGR is working great.
