Super Modiyed project in processCBPerformance 01-04-2004, 01:44 AM Hi guyz Well after roaming around in this forum for sometime now, I thought it was about time I made myself known.I have been involved in this hobby since I was 6 years old, although in the last few years other hobbies and work have taken priority, but I have been yearning to get back to it. The following pics are of a project I am working on.A SUPER MODIFYED New Zealand style. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/86455Side_Body.JPG The model is based on the 'Monogram' Steve Butler Sprint Car kit,and has been modifyed to comply with the Super Modifyed regulations. The fuel injection unit has been removed and replaced with a manifold robbed from the parts box, and topped of with a 'Curbside Dioramics' Holley carb detailed with 'S&S specialties' Carb linkages and a few scratch built bits. The cooling system has been remodeled also to be more accurate as has the external oiling system. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/86455Engine.JPG The body has been cut and bent from litho plate, a thin aluminium product used in the printing industry. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/503/86455Rear_Body.JPG The chassis has also been changed a bit to be more accurate, and will be fitted with a scratch built fuel tank to replace the sprintcar tailcone tank. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/86455Top.JPG The cockpit will be detailed with a 'Verlinden products' lever action harness and a scratch built brake system, and engine electrics. http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/86455Rear.JPG Engine detailing will be finished of with a 'Detail Master' wired distributor and a scratch built exhaust and mufflers http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/86455Side_Closeup.JPG This model will be part of a diorama of a pit scene, complete with the transporter, modeled from a modifyed 'AMT' Peterbuilt wrecker kit, and a 'Fujimi' Mechanic and tool kitset. I hope you enjoy these pics :) Chris bigblockss 01-04-2004, 01:48 AM this is gonna be kick ass when its done great work Layla's Keeper 01-04-2004, 02:16 AM It's great work of a really neat subject. I was involved with the design of, and crewed for an asphalt Supermodified here in the states. Apparently, they're a bit different down in New Zealand, because here's the car I crewed. http://www.ismasupers.com/Cayuga%202003/800-Cayuga-1.jpg It's the #7 car, that's now being campaigned by Timmy Jedrezek. Back when I was working on it, it was painted white, blue and yellow and carried the #33; as driven by Dave "The Shoe" Shullick. digitalbanzai 01-04-2004, 02:41 AM Definately going to be one of a kind :) SchuberT 01-04-2004, 02:46 AM very sweet build so far... too bad we're gonna have to wait for the finished product :) CBPerformance 01-04-2004, 04:13 AM Thanks for the coments I have had alot of fun building this model can't wait to see the finished article myself Thats one awsome car Layla's Keeper Super modifyeds are very different here, we only race on clay, I have seen pics and models of your Supers before, awsome!!!
