clunking noise 96 Caravangforster 01-03-2004, 12:14 AM I have a clunking/rapping noise under the front end - seems to be worse when only one wheel hits a bump. Has anyone had this before and found a cure? I'm thinking stabilzer bushings. EVH5150 01-04-2004, 02:08 AM Just had my 94 in for a front end allignment. The mechanic, along with a few other people, said that the sway bar bushings have a tendency to cause the clunking that I'm also experiencing, especially as the weather gets colder. Not to expensive to replace the bushings. Not a serious problem, but really damn annoying. gforster 01-04-2004, 11:13 AM Thanks EVH5150 - I'll pop in a set of bushings when the weather warms a bit. :)) Geoff Anaudiophile 01-04-2004, 11:29 PM 1996 Caravans also have front sway bar links. A 1994 does not. Sway bar bushings will usually give a crunching/squawking sound when going over bumps like speedbumps. Sway bar links clunk/chuckle over bumps especially wash board type or fast frequency type bumps. 1996 Caravans are bad for links creating this noise! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
